Family & Recovery Support

Recovery isn’t just yours. It belongs to the whole family.

When a new baby arrives, everyone in the house is adjusting: a healing body, a tired partner, an older child working out where they fit. Family & Recovery Support looks after the whole picture, not just the newest arrival.

Postpartum recovery is physical, but it’s rarely just physical. There’s the emotional adjustment of becoming a bigger family, the practical strain of running a house on no sleep, and often an older child quietly wondering what’s changed.

With Nurture, it’s just me who comes to your home, so your whole family gets a familiar, trusted face rather than a rotating cast of strangers. That might mean holding your baby while you rest or shower, sitting with an older child, or quietly keeping the household running, whatever actually gives your body time to heal while the rest of the family finds its footing too.

How I can support you

Everything, thought of

Every visit is personalised. Together we’ll choose the support that’s most helpful for you during your booked time.

Physical recovery support

Help getting rest, moving gently, and easing back into daily life after birth, including caesarean or a difficult delivery.

Whole-family meals

Meals prepared for the household, not just the new parent, so everyone is fed and no one is left cooking.

Sibling support

One-on-one attention for older children, so they feel included rather than pushed aside by the new arrival.

Household rhythm

Washing, tidying, and the everyday tasks that keep a home running, handled quietly in the background.

Partner support

A steady, experienced presence for partners too, so support isn’t only aimed at one person in the house.

Emotional check-ins

A calm, non-judgemental ear for however the adjustment is actually feeling, not just how it’s supposed to feel.

Is this you?

Who this is for

  • Families adjusting to a new baby alongside older children
  • Parents recovering from a difficult birth or caesarean
  • Families with twins, triplets, or multiples
  • Households without extended family nearby
  • Parents wanting steady, ongoing support rather than a single visit
  • Anyone who wants the whole family looked after, not just the baby

Why I approach it as a whole family

Somewhere between healing your own body and making sure everyone else in the house is okay, it’s easy to lose yourself completely. If you feel like the only thing holding it all together right now, hear this: that’s not a job you’re meant to do alone.

In over 30 years around babies and young families, the one thing that’s stayed true is that a new baby changes life for everyone in the house, not just the two of you holding them. I bring that whole-family view into your home, so recovery isn’t something you carry by yourself, and I’m here for your whole family right through that first year, not just the newborn weeks.

Good to know

Common questions

Is support only for the baby, or the whole family?

The whole family. Support covers your recovery, household tasks, meals, and attention for older children, not just baby care.

Which package should I choose?

It depends on how much support you need and for how long. Welcome Home suits a gentle start, Recovery Support is the most popular choice for steady ongoing help, and Village Support suits families wanting a fuller stretch of care. We’ll talk it through at your discovery call.

Can I book more than one night?

Yes. Overnight support can be booked across multiple nights, or combined with daytime hours through Recovery or Village Support.

How far in advance should I book?

A week or two ahead is ideal, especially for packages, but I’ll always do what I can to fit shorter notice in, particularly for overnight or urgent situations.

Not sure if this is the right fit?

That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. We’ll talk through where you’re at, and I’ll tell you honestly whether this is what you need.
