Nurture provides support across Christchurch, Selwyn, and Waimakariri.

It starts with a free discovery call so we can chat about what you need, followed by an in-home consultation to meet in person and plan your support. From there, we lock in your booking and get started.

A week or two ahead is ideal, especially for packages, but I’ll always do what I can to fit shorter notice in, particularly for overnight or urgent situations.

Payments can be made by bank transfer, or by credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard). Payment is due before your first visit.

Either works. Casual hourly bookings are available with a three-hour minimum, or you can choose a package if you know you’ll want ongoing support.

Daytime Postpartum Care, Overnight Newborn Care, and Family & Recovery Support, plus dedicated support for families with multiples.

$50 per hour, with a three-hour minimum booking.

Welcome Home ($450, 9 hours), Recovery Support ($750, 15 hours), and Village Support ($1,200, 24 hours). Hours can be used flexibly across single days or spread over several visits.

It depends on how much support you need and for how long. Welcome Home suits a gentle start, Recovery Support is the most popular choice for steady ongoing help, and Village Support suits families wanting a fuller stretch of care. We’ll talk it through at your discovery call.

Overnight Newborn Care runs from 10pm to 6am, at $300 per night.

Only if you’d like me to, or if something needs your attention. Otherwise you sleep through, and I handle what comes up.

Yes. Many parents express milk beforehand, or I’ll bring baby to you for a feed and take care of the burping, soothing, and resettling myself afterwards.

Just the basics: nappies, formula or expressed milk if using it, and a safe sleep space for baby. We’ll cover everything else at the in-home consultation before your first night.

Yes. Overnight support can be booked across multiple nights, or combined with daytime hours through Recovery or Village Support.

The whole family. Support covers your recovery, household tasks, meals, and attention for older children, not just baby care.

Yes. Caring for more than one baby at a time is part of my 30-plus years of experience with babies and young families.

Yes. Keeping an older child feeling included and cared for is very much part of what I offer.

Not at this stage, though it’s something that may be added down the track. Overnight and daytime support both include gentle settling and soothing as standard.

Eligible families, including those with multiples or in a domestic emergency, may get help through WINZ’s Home Help. You apply directly, and once approved, you choose your own home helper, so you’re free to bring me in.

If you’re entitled to home support through ACC for a birth-related injury or another eligible situation, Nurture can provide care once approved by your ACC case manager.

Yes. I’ll help guide you through the WINZ or ACC process and support you with the weekly timesheet once you’re approved.

Over 30 years around babies and young families, alongside a Postpartum Doula Certification and First Aid certification.

Yes, a full New Zealand Police vet is in place, giving families peace of mind before I ever step into your home.

It’s a chance to meet in person, talk through your situation and preferences, and put together a support plan that actually fits your family before any booking begins. The in-home consultation is $50, credited back to your package if you go on to book one.

As long as it’s useful to you. Many families start in the newborn weeks, but I’m here right through that first year, not just the earliest days.
